THE KIDS KINGDOM ...

The importance of the children’s ministry to the future of the Church and Movement cannot be over emphasized. The purpose of our movement is to reach the world with the message of Jesus and the cross. If we serve God faithfully in our lifetime but our children do not get to enjoy a fruitful relationship with God as we have done we have failed, and the movement of God would be severely hampered. What is the goal of the kid’s kingdom?...more

Kids Kingdom Workshop for Coordinators

Raising the Standards.

...let the little children come to me...for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." Luke 18:16

The Kids Kingdom had a workshop recently for Coordinators in the Ministry. The Workshop brought together
KK Coordinators from all across the country and had both incoming and all the current Coordinators working out ways to raise the standards of the Ministry.

Practical classes were taught and issues concerning the Ministry addressed as the Coordinators resolved to exercise diligence and to collectively uphold the standards that God demands with regards to Children. They also spoke on the need to share in the same vision and help carry the Kids and teachers along in what promises to be a birth of a purpose driven ministry.

Speakers includes Joy Essien, who shared a class on Working effectively with the teachers; Stella Osagie spoke on Love for the Children and Women Ministry Leader, Rolayo Ogbonnaya shared some insights on Helping your Ministry Staff and getting them all involved in running a succesful KK Ministry to the Glory of God. The Kids were not left out either as they put up an incredible stage dance that left everyone present in awe and basking in the euphoria of the new vision.

KIDS KINGDOM CULTURAL DAY

Acts17: 26-27- God is the one that decides where we would come from. He has made us all differently but we are all very special. We must learn to appreciate one another. Be happy with whom you are. Do not want to be someone else.

The Kids kingdom had an enriching cultural party for the childern with a Theme: Everything God has created is beautiful. The goal was to get the children to appreciate the rich culture God has blessed us with and to see how special we are individually before God. The children were in different age groups, 2-5, 6-9 and the preteens and were seated in a circle to make interactions easier. The Kids kingdom had an enriching cultural party for the childern with a Theme:Everything God has created is beautiful. The children were in different age groups, 2-5, 6-9 and the preteens and were seated in a circle to make interactions easier. They were also dressed in traditional clothes from different parts of Nigeria. The older kids from 6-years old got briefed ahead of time to go gather information about the various cultural groups in Nigeria and information about what part of Nigeria they live, the language they speak, foods, clothes etc. The kids were taught that there are so many cultural groups in Nigeria and areas taught included, their language, Traditions and cultural practices, geography, foods etc. It was interactive and the coordinators came up with props such as photographs, Maps, etc. foods from various tribes were also provided to show the children what people from that culture eat. They also had couples dressed in their traditional atires and spoke to the kids about their culture. Finally, they all sang to a song of unity titled ‘’Jesus loves the little children whether red yellow black or white.’

TIPS ON COMMUNICATING WITH KIDS

1Be quick to listen patiently, do not be in a hurry

2. Do not have any pre-conceived notions about any kid. Do not label any kid e.g. ‘’Mary is always troublesome’’.

3. Be always cool even when provoked remember they are just kids.

4. Never threaten the kids no matter the circumstance. E.g. ‘’I will beat you’’

5. Be firm and gentle, but never angry.

6. Use ‘’positive reinforcement’’ always. e.g. instead of saying ‘your craft is not colored properly, say come let me show you how we can make it more beautiful Let them always know you believe in them. Be loud with praise.

7. Make yourself relatable. Do not preach at the kid’s .Be dramatic even with the songs. Talk to the children on their level .Do not teach your class in a manner that it goes above their heads, use live examples they can relate to.

8. Above all pray always, God will show you how to take care of his children.

CLASS RULES

  • I must participate in all class activities
  • I must raise my hand to speak
  • I must not talk while the teacher is talking
  • I must listen when the teacher is speaking

Mark 10:14-15 “…Let the little children come to me…for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these…”

    We are the children’s today,

Leaders we will be tomorrow .

Keeping the dreams that we have, for our nations……….

We are the youths of today,

We are the hope of tomorrow; we were the future of our mother’s land.

All we needs is love. All we needs is guidance; all we needs is love to make our dreamscomes true.

All we needs is love. All we needs is kindness. All we needs is loved to make this dream.

Give us the love, to bind us together.

That is your love we need to carry on

You need to give us best, love and tenderness.

That is the reason’s why we sing the song

All we needs is love; all we needs is guidance; .All we needs is kindness to make this dream come true.

‘’I WANT TO BE LIKE JESUS’’

1. JESUS LOVED THE LITTLE CHILDREN: Mk 10: 13-16.

The children are very important to Jesus. Jesus would stop everything for the sake of the kids; he was never too busy for them. How do you see the children in God’s kingdom is it the way Jesus saw them? What was your response when you heard you are coming to serve in the kid’s kingdom? We all need to imitate the heart of Jesus. Be excited to be with the kids. Be affectionate to the kid’s love them the way Jesus Did .If you have this attitude you will have a wonderful time with the kids. They can always tell when you love them because it will influence the way you treat them, be like Jesus and love the way he did.

2 DO NOT HINDER THEM

As kk teachers there must not be a hint of hypocrisy in our lives .Our personal walk with God needs to be awesome. Be what you teach. Have great quiet times on the lessons you will teach the kids. Pray daily for God’s wisdom and direction. Be an example do not give a wrong picture of God as it will affect their perception of God.PROV: 18:9Do not be sloppy in your work always come to the class fully prepared. Be diligent and punctual; do not lead the children astray by being a bad example.

3.IT IS A PRIVILLEDGE TO SERVE.

Being in the kids kingdom provides an opportunity to learn a lot from the kids. Learn humility, patience, openness, honesty, purity of heart, forgiveness and other Godly qualities that will help you grow as a disciple.
