TIPS ON COMMUNICATING WITH KIDS1Be quick to listen patiently, do not be in a hurry2. Do not have any pre-conceived notions about any kid. Do not label any kid e.g. ‘’Mary is always troublesome’’. 3. Be always cool even when provoked remember they are just kids. 4. Never threaten the kids no matter the circumstance. E.g. ‘’I will beat you’’ 5. Be firm and gentle, but never angry. 6. Use ‘’positive reinforcement’’ always. e.g. instead of saying ‘your craft is not colored properly, say come let me show you how we can make it more beautiful Let them always know you believe in them. Be loud with praise. 7. Make yourself relatable. Do not preach at the kid’s .Be dramatic even with the songs. Talk to the children on their level .Do not teach your class in a manner that it goes above their heads, use live examples they can relate to. 8. Above all pray always, God will show you how to take care of his children. CLASS RULES

‘’I WANT TO BE LIKE JESUS’’ 1. JESUS LOVED THE LITTLE CHILDREN: Mk 10: 13-16. The children are very important to Jesus. Jesus would stop everything for the sake of the kids; he was never too busy for them. How do you see the children in God’s kingdom is it the way Jesus saw them? What was your response when you heard you are coming to serve in the kid’s kingdom? We all need to imitate the heart of Jesus. Be excited to be with the kids. Be affectionate to the kid’s love them the way Jesus Did .If you have this attitude you will have a wonderful time with the kids. They can always tell when you love them because it will influence the way you treat them, be like Jesus and love the way he did. 2 DO NOT HINDER THEM As kk teachers there must not be a hint of hypocrisy in our lives .Our personal walk with God needs to be awesome. Be what you teach. Have great quiet times on the lessons you will teach the kids. Pray daily for God’s wisdom and direction. Be an example do not give a wrong picture of God as it will affect their perception of God.PROV: 18:9Do not be sloppy in your work always come to the class fully prepared. Be diligent and punctual; do not lead the children astray by being a bad example.
3.IT IS A PRIVILLEDGE TO SERVE. Being in the kids kingdom provides an opportunity to learn a lot from the kids. Learn humility, patience, openness, honesty, purity of heart, forgiveness and other Godly qualities that will help you grow as a disciple.
