What we Believe

We believe:

•  That the Scripture states clearly that the Church is God's dwelling on Earth. In other words, God dwells in his people by his spirit. The Church is not a building but it is a group of people called out for a purpose. The Church is holy set apart by God for his glory and work and made up of Christians.

•  That everyone who repents and is baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of his/her sins will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit and be added to God's Church.

•  In the exclusive nature of the Church. John 10: 14-16; Ephesians 4: 4-6: Collosians 1: 18.There is one flock, one sheep pen, onebody, one spirit one Lord one faith one baptism, one God and Father, one Church.

The Church is not loose and undefined but clearly defined under the Lordship of Jesus Christ and as a group sharing one purpose. Anyone in any part of the world in any generation who obeys the scriptures regarding salvation and lifestyle (Acts 2:38-47) becomes part of the one Church of God . The one Church of God cannot be known by her name but by her characteristics, and because we live by theses characteristics, we believe we are part of the one true Church of God . We make every effort to call our members to live within the tenets of the scriptures.

  • That Christ has called us to minister to the needs of the poor and needy in our midst and the society in general. We believe we need to be motivated by true love and a genuine heart for the poor. To this end, we commit to taking up regular contribution for the poor to organize poor programmes within the Church and in the community such as feeding the poor, hospital visits, meeting the needs in Homes for the elderly and orphans etc. The benevolent arm of the Church HOPE Worldwide Nigeria is set up by the Church as an NGO to champion programmes and projects that will meet the needs of the poor especially those living with or are affected by HIV/ AIDS.
  • We believe in relationships in order to build one another up to be used by God for His work (Ephesians 4:15-16; John 13:34-35; Romans 15:4; Isaiah 32:1-2). Life in the family of God is all about relationships - close, caring and responsive relationships. All categories of relationships should be categorised by this upward call. We require commitment in various levels relationships.
  • We believe that every true disciple of Christ needs to commit himself/herself to helping the poor in whatever capacity he or she can.
